Sonia Rolland

Biography

Known for having won the title of Miss France, Sonia became the first Miss France of African origin. Born in Kigali in Rwanda, she had to flee the instability of the country in 1988, then Burundi in 1994, with her family to come and settle in France. In 2002 she took her first steps as an actress with Radu Mihaileanu in "Carlo's Pygmies" on Arte. He will then be offered to play the main role of a new series for M6, “Leah Parker” of which she will make 50 episodes. Since then, she has continued to shoot for television, but also for the big screen with directors such as Jean Marboeuf, Raoul Peck, Etienne Faure, Bertrand Tavernier... or even Woody Allen.

She is also a director. His first documentary is called “Rwanda: from chaos to miracle” and she is currently working on her first short fiction titled "Ordinary Life" freely inspired by his youth in Burgundy and which obtained the support of the region and the ACSE (the national agency for social cohesion and equal opportunities).
